The Komplete Start bundle is obviously designed to give users a taste of what Native Instruments plug-ins can do, in the hope that they will later upgrade to full versions of instruments such as Kontakt and Massive, and as suggested, it's all available for FREE.
However, this is still a very generous selection of instruments and sounds that almost any producer could find a use for – in fact, there are nearly 7GB of files included!
The bundle comes with seven synthesizers, including the meaty TRK-01 Bass and the 96 voiced Space Drone, as well as Carbon 2, Mikro Prism, Lazerbass, Newscool, and Blocks Base.
There are also nine sampled instruments included. There is the creepy Kinetic Treats sampled from children's toys, as well as a range of instruments that sample analog synths, classic rock instruments, and world music staples. There are also several interesting hybrid instruments included; Analog Dreams, Ethereal Earth, and Hybrid Keys.
There are two plug-in effects – the Supercharger compressor and Guitar Rig 5 Player, which we have discussed in detail in the past. Finally, there are 1500 samples included from a range of different genres, lifted from NI's Expansions sample packs.
The pack comes with the Komplete Kontrol plug-in, allowing you to browse your instruments, effects, loops, and samples in one interface. All in all, this is an excellent introduction to the world of Native Instruments and one that will find plenty of applications in the studio.
Komplete Start is available for macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14, or 10.15 (latest update) and Windows 7, 8, 10 (64-bit, latest Service Pack). You can download the bundle for free from the Native Instruments Website.
