Hi guys! Would you think getting a Diamond is way easier in Sound gym than ToneGym? I started to train myself from zero on both SoundGym and ToneGym, and that is how I feel so far. I am just wondering does it mean mixing skills are much easier to train than musical skills. Thanks!
One thing I wish would change with the games is Balance Memory.
I think there's value in trying to replicate the mixing levels of each element but it's more a memory game at this time. If people are really bad with short term memory like me, they usually just skip over the game because it has more to do with memory than your ability to match volume levels.
It would be nice to have a version that let you flip back and forth like other games (compression, EQ, boost/cut, etc). Right now I just always power through it because my short term memory sucks.
I used to suck at that game until I started visualizing where each fader would go before I would flip over to replicating it. this helped me get much higher level in that game. also, using the 808 option so you can clearly hear the elements helped me too. Hopefully this helps. as far as applying things to actual mixes, certain games are better than others. I question how helpful pan girl is to mixes what so ever, but I still play the game sometimes cuz it's fun and I get spi haha
