SoundGym Hero: Vitalii Mizhenin

Self-taught musician, bass player, and mixing engineer with a soft spot for finger drumming, Vitalii Mizhenin never went to music school or found a mentor, just relentless questioning of anyone who knew more, literature consumed cover to cover, and an out-of-tune guitar pushed into service for homemade, multi-layered recordings, before discovering that the ear, like everything else, can be trained. @Vitalii Mizhenin is this month's SoundGym Hero!

I had the same reaction with Cindy: finally some face behind the orange square, and indeed you look kind of different in each photo! haha
Breaking a large task into smaller ones is a great method to get things going. I do it, but I wish I did it even more!
Emotional music have quite an effect on you, and what an effect that is! It's nice to see that you've followed this effect to wherever it may lead.
Now we want some Vitalii project music! :)

Fun, is a great work for it. Yaz (aka Yazoo) were a great band. It's interesting to me how all the singers he has worked with sound very similar - Alison Moyet and Andy Bell, has anyone seen them in the same room? 😉

The band had to rename to Yaz in the American market cause a lesser known band was already using the name. I was a fan of Vince Clarke from his Depeche Mode days. BTW MrCello, Moyet.

does anyone know the difference between Drums and HD Drums in Dr Compressor? I have a much harder time hearing the difference in the former rather than the latter, but not sure why...

Fleetwood Mac Made Go Your Own Way In Pieces, Not Moments

Go Your Own Way turns 50 this year. Lindsey Buckingham demoed the whole thing solo, drums included, by hitting Kleenex boxes. Mick Fleetwood turned that into real drums and kept it loose on purpose, playing against John McVie's dead steady bass. That contrast is the groove.
