Hey y'all! Just kind of ranting a bit about the trajectory of my journey with music production. Through earning SoundGym's certification, approaching Diamond Ears, and putting much of my energy over the past 10 months into ear training here, my skills as a producer and audio engineer have undoubtedly evolved. That being said, after getting to Diamond level, I plan to take some away and invest more time in actually writing, producing, and mixing music. I may come back to practice occasionally, to share music I've worked on, and maybe collect a couple more badges, but beyond that, I've been at a transition phase in my goals and direction.

I've been fortunate enough to take a trip to the EU over the past few weeks and have a couple of concerts for bucket list artists of mine (Meshell Ndegeocello, Robert Glasper) lined up for this week, so I've been on and off with a relatively fresh set of ears. Not sure when I'll sign off from SG or show up here less frequently, but before doing so, I just wanted to share my appreciation and thank the community for making it such a formative and enjoyable experience for me :)

Can you tell me how many hours a day you spent practicing in 10 months? Thank you very much

On average, probably half an hour to an hour a day, with some breaks and interruptions. Some days more depending on my motivation and goals.

Most days I'm on SoundGym I'll do a workout, which probably takes me about 15 minutes to half an hour. Each game I'll try until I get to the next level, or about 3 times trying before moving onto the next. That extends the higher you climb in levels in the games. The certification requires about 92 hours worth of video content, but that can be shortened depending on the speed at which you watch videos, and for the past 6 months or so I've been slowly working through the 5 courses on SoundGym and some supplemental videos to reach that mark.
