Vocal layering is a bit dirty atm, all the yeahs take up the same space in the frequency spectrum which causes you a lot of problems in the mix and dynamics of the vocals. What you could try instead is putting the adlib yeahs in a different space more in the background. If you just want it to emphasize the words i think it be better to pull the timings a bit closer together and give them a slightly different pitch. Much like the unison works in synthesizers.
Other than that id turn up the snare a little, might add some saturation to it too. One last tip for the vocals, i hear you used som delays and FX im just not sure its quite enough yet. Sounds like you maily did it manually atm, id probably also add a short delay on the whole vocal and turn them down a little bit. That way the vocal and instrumental start to sound more like they belong together and its one whole instead of an instrumental with a vocal layered on it.
Arrangement sounds clean, you got a good feeling of the amount of elements needed in the mix. Feel like that is all good, you didn't overproduce or underproduce so great job on that! And keep it going :)
I wrote my feedback on the first track on your post btw, didn't listen to the second one.
hi @Aike East in id probably also add a short delay on the whole vocal and turn them down a little bit do you mean slapback delay? btw thanks for feedback!!
mixing into a loudness maximizer is like a magnifying glass and we can hear all your mistakes. FUNDAMENTAL 101 What,Why and How
1 over-all gain staging was over-looked 2. track balance is off 3. vocal processing is a genre affair or just personal style but the over-all feel Needs Works 3a . de-esser eq and compression_ when you know What why and how to do it will solve 99 percent of engineering issues
I think the song has potential but you can use some guidance in the approach.. happy to help good luck
so your can be saved but it seem to me you lack a lot of the foundational What Why And How at all de-essing i can also tell you did not edit you need to focus on the engineering or g
hay mike Both mixes are very nice. Liked the 2nd one better then the first . I might look at attack speed on the strings to get a more realistic sound. On the first one the bass drum and your voice are having some conflict. You could mess with the vocal chain but I think a litter wider or dubbing might be faster
