Hey everyone,

quick question: how long have you been hitting the soundgym until you reached level 10 on (almost or all) games?

and do you still work out now that you played it through?

Hi Matthias, I don't remember exactly how long it took to get to level 10 on all games. But I've been hitting the SG for more than a year. When I started I came here almost everyday. Now it's every once in a while.
Levels are not so important to me, but the effect of the exercises I notice almost on a daily basis. 👌

@Anne Schutte Thanks for the Answer! Interesting, was wondering what role it might play long-term. Keep grinding:)

Hey,
I just remember that I was gold in less than one month and after I wanted to be certified so I watch a lot of videos in videos section. After that I loved to play at olympics and EQ race and after winning the Championship I was looking for BeatRace.
It depend of the time you spend, the time you need, your target ...
I'm here since 11 months now and I'm happy of my results but yeah it's some hard work

@Matthias K. The role it plays, is that you start recognising frequencies and delays etc faster sometime almost like intuition. But the thing is, that it takes still a lot more hours to put that into practice while recording/mixing/etc.
But the time you spend training is definitely worth it ;)
Do you have specific reasons for training? (Like for mixing or other purposes?)

@Alexandra Escalle Thanks for the reply! Yeah I remember you were highlighted on the website, congratulations on your good ears!:) gave you a follow on insta

@Anne Schutte I agree Soundgym isn't the ONLY thing we all should be doing:) thank you for the insight.
And yes I want to mix and master my own tracks (deep house). Especially the compression stuff is really helpful to me right now.

What's also really cool about this site is that you can ask anything and get feedback for mixes.

Thank you both

I’ve gotten to level ten or higher on almost all games, except bass detective and distorted reality, I really suck at those for some reason. Most of the EQ games and such I have much higher into the 20s-40s. I’ve been on soundgym about 3 months I think, and usually play a little every day. Theres usually one day of the week or so where I will binge and play several hours and usually focus on one or two games at a time. I would recommend starting with feedback eliminator, EQ mirror and peak master to get the skills you will need for the other games. Im trying for level twenty on all games, and eventually 99 percentile on every game hopefully. Just set one goal at a time and work towards bigger goals.

@Aaron Vannoy thanks for your advice! good idea to take a day for intense practice but still do a little something the rest of the time.
I agree the EQ games are the most essential, I'm on peak master a lot lately. level 10 now actually:)
